Ways to get Involved
Plaque Dedication Ceremonies
Each Plaques for Warriors ceremony is a powerful moment of recognition—where veterans are celebrated not only by their families, but by the entire community.
Held at the Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial in San Diego, these ceremonies provide veterans and their loved ones the opportunity to witness their service publicly honored and permanently remembered.
What You Can Expect:
Formal reading of each veteran’s service history
Unveiling of the custom plaque
Remarks from family, community leaders, and fellow veterans
Presentation of certificates or honors (when applicable)
Time for reflection, photography, and unity
Community & Educational Outreach
In addition to plaque ceremonies, Plaques for Warriors participates in:
Veterans Day & Memorial Day events
Civic talks at local schools and community centers
Cultural celebrations that honor military service across generations
Workshops on preserving family military history and nominations
These events foster pride, historical awareness, and cultural inclusion—especially within underrepresented veteran communities.
Partnerships & Sponsorships
Every plaque at Mt. Soledad tells a story of courage, sacrifice, and community.
Your support ensures those stories are preserved—especially for veterans who might otherwise go unrecognized.
Why We Need Your Support
Each plaque costs $1,800 – $2,800 covering engraving, installation, and ceremony.
Many honorees come from underserved backgrounds and cannot fund this recognition on their own.
Your donation or sponsorship ensures no veteran is left behind due to financial barriers.

Because too many warriors wait too long to be recognized.
Because families deserve to see their loved one honored with dignity.
Because every name tells a story—and that story should live on.

Honoring Our Own: A Legacy of Service
This short story honors those who walked the same streets, went to the same schools, and came from the same neighborhoods as us—ordinary people who chose extraordinary service.
In times of war and peace, they’ve stepped forward—not to be remembered, but to protect what must never be forgotten. For generations, our sons and daughters have answered the call—not for medals or recognition, but because service runs deep in our spirit. Because defending what matters most—our families, our freedom, our barrio—has always been our mission.
Some never made it home. They fought in every major conflict, earning Bronze Stars, Silver Stars, and Purple Hearts. But beyond the decorations, they carried something greater: an unshakable belief that freedom, though not free, is worth defending.
Through our work, we preserve their stories—those who came before us, those we’ve lost, and those who continue to serve today.
With your support, we can honor more of these heroes by placing them at Mt. Soledad, where their names and legacies will stand in stone for future generations to remember.
